Josto srl was established in the early 1930s by Josto Biggio a far-sighted and
enterprising Agent and businessman. He saw the potential of shipping in the South
of Sardinia which was a busy mining area, and, after the opening of the port of
Sant'Antioco that followed an intensive coal mining he started his own Agency
and Brokerage organization. The company soon flourished becoming one of the
main agencies in Sardinia, serving the interests of major Shipowners and buying
its own vessels.
In 1959 the head office transferred to Cagliari, where the Agency used its expertise
to deal with the needs of the growing chemical and metallurgical industries, providing
a comprehensive range of SHIP AGENCY services and CARGO HANDLING,
including SPECIAL ROAD TRANSPORT. Josto srl was involved in the setting up of
RO/RO lines between Cagliari and the mainland and from the outset was highly specialized
in the new type of services. Josto srl has given proof of its innovative ability when the
first Cruise Ships first berthed at Cagliari, providing all round assistance to vessels
and passengers alike and organizing ground services and excursions.
The experience gained throughout the years by its executives and its staff is reflected
in the company's decision-making and its operational efficiency.
Today's challenge is the new Container Port, where Josto srl can guarantee the same
quality of service which has always delivered: Yesterday and always a safe berth in Sardinia.
